BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState

BROEN VALVE TECHNOLOGIES takes the lead in digitalisation solutions for the district heating industry with the acquisition of the HydroState concept

With the acquisition of the HydroState concept, BROEN Valve Technologies has taken the lead in the digitalisation of the district heating industry. With the launch of the BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState solution, the company has not only strengthened its market position, but has also taken a major step forward in meeting the growing demands for energy efficiency and sustainability.

The BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState concept enables district heating plants to access valuable data in real time or as logged data, depending on the customer's needs. With HydroState, utilities can monitor key parameters such as pressure and temperature and quickly identify potential leaks in the pipe network.

"We see HydroState as an essential part of the future digital toolbox for district heating utilities," says Peter Ebdrup, CEO of BROEN Valve Technologies, "By reducing the return temperature by just one degree at a large district heating plant, annual savings of several hundred thousand DKK can be achieved, a clear demonstration of the economic benefits of digitalisation for district heating utilities."

Advanced technology optimises district heating plants
Based on advanced technology developed by Allan Krantz Jensen, the HydroState concept aims to optimise the operation of district heating and cooling systems. "Using NB-IoT and LTE-M technology, the system can measure and log pressure and temperature data in the district heating network in real time, both for the supply and return flows and for regulating motorised valves in the circulation," says Allan Krantz Jensen. He is looking forward to continuing the development of the BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState as an employee of BROEN Valve Technologies. The BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState is designed to meet the strictest data security requirements in the utility sector.

Financial savings and green transition
The BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState concept is designed to support the green transition in the district heating sector. By lowering the pressure in the system, energy consumption for pumps can be reduced, while better monitoring of the pipe network can reduce water wastage and optimise energy consumption. The solution also contributes to a lower return temperature, which is both an economic benefit and a key component in reducing CO2 emissions. For district heating companies, this means significant savings while becoming part of the sustainable energy transition.

Flexible solutions for all requirements
BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState can be retrofitted to existing well valves, installed in a bypass cabinet or integrated into new valves, making it extremely flexible and adaptable to each customer's needs. BROEN VALVE TECHNOLOGIES also offers the solution either as a subscription solution or as a one-off investment, allowing customers to choose the model that suits them best. This flexibility allows district heating plants to get started with minimal investment, for example by starting with a single unit and gradually expanding the system as the benefits are realised.

With the BROEN BALLOMAX® HydroState concept, BROEN VALVE TECHNOLOGIES is ready to set new standards for how data and digitalisation can drive the district heating industry towards a greener and more efficient future.
